Do not under any circumstances buy a Jennaire downdraft stove if you possibly can avoid it. Redo your kitchen first so that you don't need a downdraft. They were superior products but since they have become "the only kid on the block" as far as downdraft ovens are concerned they have put out *** for products.

I think that a company that expects you to pay 2,000.00 for a stove should be able with all that revenue to put together something that doesn't break down. If you doubt this review look up all the other reviews on all the sites that complain about Jennaire. I think it's time that the word gets out and they become accountable.

Our Jenn Aire is also on its 2nd very expensive control panel. We say no way are we putting more money into this oven.

But the way our kitchen is configured, we need a downdraft. Can't find another company that makes one, so we are tempted to remodel before we buy another Jenn Aire!

Jennaire should be forced to take that oven off the market until someone is smart enough to manufacture one that is suitable for use and stop taking consumers money.

We also purchased a Jenn Air slide in based on previous favorable experience with the brand. After a cleaning cycle the electronics were fried!

Replaced mother board for $250 no results, J-A cant tell me what is wrong and neither can Sears Repair. Additional repairs would cost more than a new GOOD range

Yeah, our stove is falling apart too. The mother board is gone, one element doesn't work anymore and just yesterday the oven stopped working.

I'm taking it to the dump and I'm not buying Jenn Air again. :(

We are currently remodeling our kitchen and that is our problem. The Jenn Air that is supposed to be so great is awful.

Been trying to find out if this thing is hard wired in or if it has a plug and cannot find an answer. The downdraft is a joke and will be happy to be rid of it. The oven cooks unevenly and the grill part is also laughable.

So much for "the one that costs the most, is the best one". Think again.

Jen-Air Downdraft Range....Sears has replaced the control panel 3 times in 2 years it probably would have been more, but It took me months at a time to get a Sears repair man out. Now its out again and they say it is out of warranty. Jen-Air and Sears do not communicate so Jen-Air has no record of conrol panel replacement, so I guess its my problem now.

I was also forced to by a Jennaire due to needing the downdraft fan. I had an older one that worked fine so bought a new one.

What a piece of ***! Bought it from Sears who sent me to Jennaire with complaints and repairs. This stove is cheap, cheap, cheap! Burner inserts broke alsmost immediately, oven grates tip downward when pulled out.

I dumped a whole pot of oven stew on my leg and foot because the pot slipped off the rack when I pulled it out to check it. I suffered burns on my let and foot and still NO help from this lousy company.

Do NOT purchase any product from Jennaire! I wish I had remodeled my whole kitchen so I could have a decent range.

Guest

absolutely do not buy this product. the mother board goes.

the paint chip off. the cooktops stop working. this stove is 9 years old and gently used.

and jennair is the worst at customer service. the dishwasher i bought from jennair is falling apart as well.

Our 9yr old gas/electric downdraft is now requiring it's third key pad, and second mother board replacement, at a cost of $700.

We just did these parts replace one year ago! I am done with JENNAIRE!

I am not paying another $700 to repair this stove, and NOT purchasing any more Jennaire products. We got this stove because my girlfriend had had an older Jennaire, which worked great, but their newer products do not seem to be anywhere near as well built as the older models.

here is an update to my above comment. Now my stove is rusting.

The paint is actually coming off on the interior vent area in the center of the stove and I have not been able to cook a hamburger on the grill portion because it will not get hot enough. Keep posting people and maybe the word will get out since that is the only recourse we seen to have against this company.

By the way I believe Jenn Aire and Maytag are mutually owned. Good to know.

Amen to the above. The product is lousy and the customer service is even worse. They know they have a monopoly and they treat you that way.

I had an 20 year old jenn aire and it was needing updating. I bought the new electric down draft last week.

It cost 2,300.00(pricey) and 300.00 to install. 2 days after installation the computer stopped working. The warrenty co. ordered a new mother board and installed it, which immediately stopped working 10 minutes after repair!

Now the technician says he needs to order another part and wants to charge me 200.00 to fix it, even though it is still under warrenty( one week new, only worked for 2 days). He says that the warrenty does not cover uninstalling the stove to fix it, and he can for sure tell me if this part will fix the problem. I called the store that sold it to me ( Biult in Distributors)and asked to return the range. I don't want to sink any more money in this lemon.

The company is avoiding my calls because whirlpool does not want the range back. I never actually got to use or enjoy the stove, it is brand new. They won't let me return it and they can't fix it. Very unethical!

I called my credit card to stop payment to them, as the purchase is so recent. My card company said they will dispute it.

Maybe if they don't get paid then they will try to resolve this.I was going to exchange it but now I want to return it, rip up my kitchen, so I can get some other brand. I hear GE is good.

same here

about to get THIRD mother board and Jenn-air will not take any responsibility. all they offer is for us to buy an additional warranty.

this stove is a piece of junk.

Guest

Ditto for our Jennaire. The front trim rusted out, the front control panel lights display only rarely, and our burner cartridge needs replacing.

I'm looking for alternatives.
